Avi

Avi Madisetti, Ph.D.

CEO, Founder

Dr. Madisetti has over 25 years of experience in the communications, networking and semiconductor industry. Dr. Madisetti started out his career at Rockwell Semiconductor, Newport Beach CA. He then joined Broadcom Corporation and was a key contributor to the Networking Business Unit. Dr. Madisetti was the DSP and system architect for the Fast Ethernet (100Base-TX) and the DSP-based Serdes product lines and was also a key contributor to the Gigabit Ethernet product family. These product lines remain as one of the most successful high volume product launches in the company’s history with billions of ports shipped.

Dr. Madisetti co-founded Mobius Semiconductor which developed very high-speed calibrated ADCs and DACs in collaboration with industry leaders in the commercial and defense markets. Mobius also specialized in very efficient DSP based transceiver architectures and developed the lowest power channel stacking IC for the DBS ODU markets. The company was acquired by Entropic Communications, San Diego, a market leader in DBS CSS and MoCA markets. Dr. Madisetti obtained his B.S. from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, India, M.S. from the University of California, Davis and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from University of California, Los Angeles.

Tommy

Tommy Yu, Ph.D.

CTO, Founder
Dr. Tommy Yu has over 25 years of experience in the field of communication system architecture and circuit design. Prior to starting Mixed-Signal Devices, Dr. Yu was a technical director at Entropic Communication where he was the project lead for the digital satellite outdoor unit and cable front end products. Dr. Yu joined Entropic through the acquisition of Mobius Semiconductor where he was the director of system engineering. At Mobius, he developed the lowest power satellite outdoor unit and cable front end products in the industry.Prior to joining Mobius Semiconductor, Dr. Yu was a senior principal scientist at Broadcom Broadband VLSI group. He was the system lead responsible for all satellite receiver products development at Broadcom and one of the key members that help to grow the satellite product revenue exceeds $500M.
Dr. Yu has 36 issued patents and 15 patents pending in the area of communication system and circuit design. Dr. Tommy Yu received B.S. (summa cum laude), M.S., and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Ralph

Ralph Duncan, Ph.D.

VP of Analog & RF
Dr. Ralph Duncan received his B.A.Sc., M.A.Sc., and Ph.D., all in Electrical Engineering from the University of Toronto in Analog and Mixed-Signal circuit design. He initiated his career by designing ADCs and analog filters at Maxim Integrated Products. He then joined Broadcom as a Principal Scientist and was engaged in the design of Cable tuners and modems; satellite and set-top box receivers; cell phone radios; and 1-10 Gb/s Ethernet Physical Layer Devices.
Dr. Duncan became the Director of Analog Design at Mobius Semiconductor and developed multiple giga-sample transceivers for networking and defense companies. The development of a DBS outdoor unit led to the company’s acquisition by Entropic Communications, where Dr. Duncan became the Director of Analog and Mixed-Signal Design. At Entropic, Dr. Duncan led the design of the DBS front-end that included LNAs, 5.4GS/s ADCs, 10.8GS/s DACs and a 10.8GHz PLL.
